I watched Lynsee on the Twin Cities MomsLikeMe Site give birth to her first child a little girl. During her labor she said that she couldn't wait to be able to eat so that she could have a Big Mac. I remember when I gave birth to my oldest all I wanted was some Gatorade afterwards and my 2y son all I wanted was some iced tea. I don't remember wanting anything after my daughter was born or during delivery but she was born in the middle of the night while the boys were born in the morning and during he day.
When the ice chips weren't cutting it, what food/drink did you want during labor or right after delivering?

I posted this late last night after Lynsee had her baby. I wanted to bump it up since I know that there are people out there that had cravings - there's no way Lynsee and I are the only ones.

hmm I had a scheduled C-Section, so I never went into labor but during pregnancy the only thing I really craved, was Milk and Coke

I had no cravings at all during pregnancy, labor, or after. That's with both kids!
I just wanted food after i gave birth! With my son i had dinner the night before and went into labor first thing the next morning he was born 12 hrs later so it was more than 24hrs that i had any food. And it was the same with my daughter except for i went into labor 1:30 in the morning and she was born 16 hrs later.
Just thinking back makes me want to eat something now... and i am not even hungry. lol

With all of my kids it was a long time from when I ate last until when I got to eat again. I guess since labor comes on out of the blue you can't really plan a meal around it and of course there are only so many ice chips and popsicles a girl can handle!

My dear friend told me the sure fire way to go into labor was to go to Maixie's in Rocky River for a Reuban which I loved. She said she did this and went into labor that night. We had plans to pick my mother in law up at the airport that day at 3pm then we thought we swing over to an early dinner. Needless to say things started moving along she was my second and had been high risk since 5 months when I started labor then. I carried her very low. They predicted a premiee but miss true to form she was a week late. I was eating all through the evening and my husband asked are you going to have this baby or are we all going to bed. I knew without question my son was coming my- nothing but back labor. I finally said we better go close to mid night and she arrived at 2:30am I was ready to have a dozen children and eat everything I could get. I sent my husband on a shopping mission before he went home to get a couple of hours before our son woke up and wanted to see his sister. He said we'll stop for flower's first then come by I stopped him and said "no" you can pick up a nice breakfast and we can all eat together. You can stop at the flower shop downstairs. I stay really in shape so I do burn alot of calories. Heavens what takes more work than natural child birth.

After I had my daughter, I craved milk! They couldn't keep those little cartons coming fast enough. The funny part is,I usually don't like milk. For some reason though, my body wanted some 2%!

With my first two I just wanted water or something to drink, my mouth was so dry. With my third I wanted Steak and Shake. I craved milkshakes while pregnant and the Steak and Shake shakes were so awesome and yummy. I also wanted a big hamburger. Watching Lynsee and hear her talk about wanting a Big Mac made me laugh and remember those cravings.

Panera! Particularly their tuscan chicken sandwich which is seasonal and hubby had to talk them into making. I made him go get it as soon as they opened the next day!

I wanted a popsicle because I was so thirsty from the magnisam sulfate that I was put back on after my emergency c-section. I wasn't allowed to have anything to drink except a few ice chips & they were few and far between. :0<
